SONARSOUND LANDS IN TOKYO
After London, Lisbon, Neuchatel and Hamburg, SONARSOUND
will reach Tokyo the coming 12 and 13 of October. The framework
of this new initiative will be the Tokyo
Designers Block 2002, an international interdisciplinary
event taking place from October 10 to 14, which will bring
outstanding designers from all over the world to the Japanese
capital.
SONARSOUND will present a varied musical programme over two
days with a total of fifteen acts. All this will take place
at the spectacular Think
Zone, a cube shaped art gallery with state of the art
technology right in the heart of Roppongi
Hills. On the 12th and in collaboration with Third Ear,
there will be concerts by Soul Center, Dennis DeSantis, Numb
and Why Sheep?, as well as DJ sets by Fumiya Tanaka, Hiroshi
Watanabe and Dj Kentaro, whereas on the 13th it will be the
turn of Ulrich Schnauss, Yoshinori Sunahara, World's End Girlfriend,
Portable [K]ommunity, Yamauchi and Nao Tokui (Clickety And
Clack), with Angel Molina and Fibla heading the list of those
representing the Barcelona scene.
Besides the music, SONARSOUND will complete its programme
with two other activities aimed at stimulating debate, promotion
and analysis: "SonarSound Symposium", a forum that
will focus on the present state of digital creation and its
new territories of expansion, and "SonarSound Lecture",
a series of lectures around the fusion between digital art
and advanced musics.
SONARSOUND TOKYO is an Advanced Music and Third
Ear (www.third-ear.net) initiative in collaboration with
the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
