From the 10th to the 12th of September, the Instituto Tomie Othake will be the focal point of the daytime activities of SonarSound Sao Paulo. Three days during which audiences can enjoy an intense menu of live acts, DJ sessions and extra-musical activities.
SonarSound by Day pushes off to a start on September 10 with a live act by the Brazilian group Inumanos on the Hall Stage, a stage that will also be hosting performances by Prince Po, KLJAY and Beans, and the impact and musical diversity of which will be rivalling the Conference Stage, the space where Lia, National and the renowned Golan Levin are set to appear.
Arto Lindsay is the great protagonist on the following day. An internationally respected musician based between Salvador do Bahia and New York, and the artifice, among many others, of “Invoke” and “Prize”, two examples of musical eclecticism that transcend clichés and labels. Objeto Amarelo, Hurtmold, Liars, Laptropic, Kevin Blechdom, Bojo and Mugison will round off the day’s roster.
The event will finish off on September 12 and the Instituto Tomie Ohtake will be hosting a hefty lineup of extremely varied musical styles featuring Artificial, Fibla + RandomZeta, LCD, Four Tet, Tetine, Akufen, Nego Moçambique and Junior Boys, who will be presenting their latest work “Last Exit”.
Over the three days, the live acts and DJ sessions will be accompanied by different extra-musical activities: SonarCinema, the audiovisual area of Sónar will present the programme of its 2004 edition;
Sónar Image Exhibition, an exhibition on the Sónar image campaigns since 1994; and Multimedia Sao Paulo, a showcase featuring a variety of installations by international and local artists.
