You might not have heard of Adrian Sherwood, but you’ve definitely heard his work. Active since the 1980s, his work has echoed through the underground and even the mainstream over the past four decades. As head of On-U Sound, the legendary Bristol-based dub label, his fingerprints are all over the city’s musical DNA, from its legendary post-punk and reggae scenes through to trip-hop and dubstep. Beyond that, he’s been at the mixing desk for literally hundreds of records, producing everything from classic reggae and post-punk to early hip-hop, industrial, and new wave. At Sónar by Day, he’ll perform a live dub set, mixing plenty of his own productions with unique versions. Come meditate on bass weight.
