Over two decades into his career, the acclaimed DJ and producer is still chasing the future and pushing boundaries

Boys Noize has never stopped ripping up the rulebook. In the early 2000s the German-Iraqi artist was amongst the first to use the internet to hijack and rewire dance music culture, and that same anarchic spirit - community and culture ahead of rules and hierarchies - still inspires him today.

Starting out as a hip-hop obsessed electro DJ and producer from Hamburg, Alex Ridha has gone on to collaborate with everyone from Lady Gaga and A$AP Rocky to Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and David Lynch. He’s soundtracked films, been nominated for (and won) a Grammy, and produced for chart-topping rap stars.

These days, he’s pouring his energy into ONES and ZEROS, an experimental concept label dedicated to the future of techno and electro. The label’s manifesto echoes what he’s been playing in his own sets: fast, intense music from across the world, with little regard for genre conventions or distinctions between ‘mainstream’ or ‘underground’. We’re ready for one of dance music’s eternal rebels to stir things up again at Sónar 2026.
