26/10/20232manydjs invite Éclair Fifi & Erol Alkan, Sevdaliza, Shygirl presents ‘Club Shy’, and Oneohtrix Point Never amongst the first names announced for Sónar Lisboa 2024

The first wave of artists for Sónar Lisboa 2024 has been announced today, as the Lisbon edition of Sónar gears up to kick off the 2024 European festival season on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of March next year.

Headlining today’s announcement is an unprecedented, never-seen-before set from 2manydjs, who’ve invited Éclair Fifi and Erol Alkan to join them for an eclectic club session. They’re joined on the lineup by a longtime friend of Sónar, Bonobo, who’ll explore his wide-ranging influences in a DJ set. Dutch-Iranian artist Sevdaliza will perform an electrifying live show that blends trip-hop, r&b and experimental sonics, and UK star Shygirl will introduce her brand new ‘Club Shy’ show to the world, translating her tracks to the dancefloor.

They’re just two of the genre-defying live performances announced today. US producer Oneohtrix Point Never explores the all-consuming relationship music has with its own past; he’ll bring his latest album Again to life with visual artist Freeka Tet. Also exploring the relationship between past, present and future, Hudson Mohawke and Tiga’s AV show Love Minus Zero reconfigures raving for a 21st-century audience. TOMMY CASH brings his unique, surreal brand of hip-hop to town; and Wata Igarashi’s deep, psychedelic brand of techno is joined by Grove’s politicised dancehall and drum’n’bass. Rising local artist XEXA channels afrofuturism and her São Toméan heritage: she’ll perform music from her forthcoming album on the famed Lisbon label Príncipe.

Other local names announced today include digger and selector Chima Isaaro, one of Lisbon’s best-kept secrets; Moullinex △ GPU Panic’s dreamy mix of electronica and synth-pop; and a back-to-back from multidisciplinary Porto duo Supa and Ghetthoven. Expect plenty more names from Portugal’s vibrant local scene to be announced very soon.

The third edition of the festival won’t be short of floor-filling DJ sets either, with Eliza Rose showing off her deep knowledge of UK garage and house; and a homecoming set from Lisbon-based CC:DISCO!. Elsewhere there’s hybrid dance music from DJ Gigola, a member of Berlin’s Live From Earth Collective, plus Florentino’s cross-cultural blend of Latinx rhythms and UK sounds. Deep techno aficionado Laura BCR’s transportative selections are squarely aimed at the dancefloor, and rising producer Mona Yim mixes tech-house, hyperpop and 2-step in her accomplished DJ sets.

These are just the first 19 artists that will appear in Parque Eduardo VII in the heart of the city next March. There’ll be plenty more artists announced very soon, as well as additional details on the venues and the Sónar+D programme.

There are still a few Full Festival Passes and VIP Full Festival Passes available at first release price, head to the tickets page to get yours now.

The Sónar calendar for 2024 also includes the 8th Edition of Sónar Istanbul, which takes place on the 26th and 27th of April, in its habitual home of Zorlu PSM. There’ll be more news soon, as well as the first artist announcement for Sónar 2024, which takes place on the 13th, 14th and 15th of June in Barcelona. Tickets are available now at first release price: choose between a SonarPass or SonarPass+D (both passes include Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night).
