Read out more about how we’re reimagining the festival and redesigning each stage here, or consult our dedicated FAQ here. SonarVillage by Estrella Damm: from day to night and back to day againCombining the best of Sónar’s two most iconic stages, the brand-new SonarVillage by Estrella Damm will be located on the site of the former SonarPub. Our biggest open-air stage will be at the heart of the festival in 2026, the only stage open from start to finish on all three days. Now unmasked, SBTRKT, one of the defining artists of the UK’s post-dubstep movement, debuts bold new material from his forthcoming album.Gospel meets ‘70s cosmic funk when Rush Hour-signed band Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers take to the stage, and local icon Undo hasprepared a new full-band live show. They join a diverse list of live performers that already included New York r&b original Kelis and Sónar favourites Modeselektor and WhoMadeWho.Club Heart Broken founder MALUGI swaps eurotrance and speed garage cuts with Benwal, while nimino’s friendly, anthemic UK garage should be a crowd-pleaser. Carlita’s melodic, lysergic style contrasts with hi-NRG and nu-disco champion Cormac, and there’s plenty of classic house music with Queens’ very own KilopatrahJones; rising Berlin icon LOVEFOXY; and a special session from Ketiov and Fernanda Arrau, residents at Madrid queer institutionCARBS. Repping the cross-cultural, high-energy sound of London are Arthi, Lady Shaka b2b Tash LC and local DJ Loli Zazou. There’s also afrobeats from Ghanaian-British duo Mina & Bryte, while Brazilian DJ Maz and Barcelona’s own Afri K play smooth, elegant afrohouse. They all join an already stacked DJ lineup featuring Sammy Virji, Chris Stussy,KETTAMA, MK (Mark Kinchen)b2b TSHA, Collen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, and Gerd Janson b2bMarcel Dettmann.SonarClub: The biggest dancefloor in the world gets an upgradeThe world’s biggest dancefloor gets even better this year, with an upgraded sound system and lighting rig, plus new visual technology. That’s why we’ve packed the lineup with huge acts, stadium-sized AV shows and incredible DJs who’ll know exactly how to maximise its capabilities. Headlining the new additions are British rave crew The Prodigy, who’ll make their long-awaited Sónar debut on Saturday. In recognition of their outsized influence on the Andalusian breakbeat scene, Sevillan producers Ático Corp. and R.I.P. Bestia -appearing as UFC (Un Futuro Creíble) live - open for them. As previously announced, Friday is headlined by global grime star Skepta; opening for him is Manchester-based Basque selector Zuri.Sara Landry and Dom Dolla are two of the most in-demand DJs in contemporary dance music: they’re both preparing high-impact, big-room ready sets with added AV production. And don’t forget, we already announced a new AV show from Charlotte de Witte, plus Amelie Lens’s epic AURA. Rounding out the new names are Greek hardgroove revivalists ANNĒ & Sera J and versatile Ukrainian techno artist Daria Kolosova, who join DJ Gigola, Joy Orbison, Funk Tribu, and Ogazón.SonarCar, evolved: Speedy J presents STOOR Live SonarCar goes back to its roots in 2026, with a three-day takeover of the stage by STOOR Live. This is both a return to, and an evolution of, the ‘classic’ SonarCar all-night long DJ sessions. Starting as a pandemic-era studio project led by Dutch techno icon Speedy J, STOOR has since evolved into one of electronic music’s most impressive and unique live concepts, with extended, collaborative and fully improvised hardware sessions that go on for upwards of 6 hours. For each session, Speedy J is joined by four different performers, and what happens after is entirely unrehearsed and unscripted; each night will be an unrepeatable, unique experience. This year’s takeover of SonarCar is the most ambitious iteration of the project yet, and the first time STOOR has taken over an entire festival stage for three days.Thursday’s opening session will feature Colin Benders, Nadia Struiwigh,Reeko, and.VRIL. On Friday, FJAAK,KiNK, and Nene Hwill appear; while on Saturday, Dasha Rush, Luke Slater, Mathew Jonson andØ [Phase] all participate. SonarHall: from concert venue to club in minutesOne of the biggest changes at Sónar 2026 is the new SonarHall. Our flagship indoor stage evolves this June with an extended schedule that runs deep into the night, and a technical setup that allows us to shift smoothly from concert hall to club. What that means for you is less pauses between acts - with DJs and hybrid sets in the centre of the room - and late-night club takeovers by BULTO and Glitterbox on Friday and Saturday. SonarHall will still be the place where you’ll find genre-defying live acts at Sónar 2026. Daniel Avery appears with a full band, performing material from his latest, alt-rock inspired, album. The first act from this year’s AI & Music powered by S+T+ARTS programme is also announced today: Reinier Zonneveld performs live with R2, an AI he’s trained on his own music. YHWH Nailgun’s explosive blend of dance punk and noise rock is cathartic and euphoric, while UK club tricksters Two Shell have been teasing new material. Catalan artists Ani in the Hall and MERCÈ both debut new shows, inspired respectively by folklore and videogames. Swedish pop futurist Namasenda and electronic jazz wizards ROLROLROL - Brainfeeder acolyte Jameszoo and Niels Broos - are the final additions to lineup that already featured cult industrial and electronic groupCabaret Voltaire and 30drop’s new AV show.Moving to the artists who’ll perform between sets in the centre of the room, French post-punk connoisseur The Hacker is charged with warming up for Cabaret Voltaire, while one of Barcelona’s best DJs, Oriana, handles the aftershow party. Spanish producer Beatrix Weapons performs live, and Takuya Nakamura plays a hybrid set of jazz and jungle on CDJs, trumpet and pads. Another Japanese artist, GOTH-TRAD specialises in heavy, distorted, slow-motion dub, while Enchufada’s Sónia Trópicos brings the warm sound of Lisboa to Sónar 2026.After the shows on Friday and Saturday night, SonarHall converts into a club that runs until 5am. Bogotá queer fetish night BULTO have curated Friday’s lineup: former Mamba Negra resident Amanda Mussi, plus their own Nina GGG and JESUZ X back-to-back Brooklyn-based Spaniard NE/RE/A. On Saturday night, iconic house and disco party Glitterboxtakes the reins. Launched in 2015 by Defected Records, it’s famed for its hedonistic atmosphere and legendary Ibiza summer events. At Sónar 2026, they’ve invited one of the funkiest artists around, German super-producer Mousse T., plus Glitterbox residents and radio hosts Melvo Baptiste and Yasmin.SonarPark: Let’s go outsideThe home of global, hyperlocal and hyperconnected club music at Sónar, SonarPark heads outdoors this year, with an extended nighttime schedule - until 1:30am on Thursday and until 6am on Friday and Saturday - and redesigned stage with a bigger dancefloor.Latin America’s growing importance in electronic music is much more than a post-pandemic trend. Amongst the new additions appearing at SonarPark are Colombia’s PETERBLUE and Mexican ‘slut techno’ - her words, not ours - activist Miss Bashful. Argentinian superproducer TAYHANA also returns to Sónar, this time together with sensual latin house artist MissLupe. Live From Earth’s Perra Inmunda trades in fast, hip-hop inspired latin house, while Venezuela's Tedesco is one of latincore’s - dark, fast techno with added bass and breaks - leading lights. Fukcnormal and Mecromina Club residents Fresquito, Mango and Edu Lindo are from Spain, but they draw inspiration from the same sources. Already announced and also appearing are Clementaum b2b LAZA and La Sofy. It’s hard to think of a moment when Spanish trap and r&b have felt this creative, innovative and diverse. Metrika is provocative, but she’s also a brutally honest voice on modern sexuality and mental health. She’ll be joined at SonarPark by Main Costa from Alicante, and Barcelona’s GlorySixVain. Also from Barcelona, the Cutemobb collective host a multi-MC showcase of hip-hop, r&b, trap and afrobeats, led by founding member LEÏTI. And Catalan artist TAWA’s raw experimentalism pulls from baile funk, rage rap and witch house. Baby Panterabreaks fully with trap to embrace trance on his forthcoming album Desidia, which features Nick León and Mssingno. South Korean duo DPR CREAM & DPR ARTIC, members of K-pop supergroup DPR, exist in a world of their own, influenced by r&b, hip-hop and UK bass. A pair of DJs round out the new additions. Ciara Cuvé is the psytrance alter ego of Clara Cuvé, and Madrid artist Migal - who provided the music for the Sónar 2026 campaign - offers a fresh perspective on hardgroove techno and tribal house. They join a lineup that already included sessions from Boys Noize, DJ AYA, RONI, and Alba Franch. SonarLab: Bridging contemporary and classic club cultureSonarLab evolves again this year, with a redesigned dancefloor and lighting rig to help you lose yourself to some of the best artists in dance music, and a lineup that embraces underground rave culture and forward-thinking electronic music. Friday is dedicated to the continuing influence of the UK hardcore continuum, from jungle to bass music. Representing legendary label Metalheadz, Goldie b2b Doc Scottft Medic MC should be unmissable for anyone who considers themselves a fan of drum’n’bass. Addison Groove helped introduce footwork to dubstep circles: he explores the full spectrum of UK bass music and techno. Amaliah b2b Pangaea play the kind of fluid, bass-driven house and techno that exploded in the UK in the early 2010s (call it post-dubstep, if you must).Mysterious duo ⌭ IceMorph ⌬ -of online collective CloudCore - are downloading the internet’s most unconventional club music direct to the dancefloor, and Madrid DJ Olivia Babe’s esoteric mixing style compares positively to already-announced Japanese sensation- and SonarMix author - riria.Saturday’s lineup showcases artists who are reshaping and refining techno. German ravers FJAAK meet electroclash pioneer Kittin for a collaborative live set. Herrensauna resident SALOME plays acid and electro with plenty of spiky breaks, while Akua’s raw, minimal, and intense style is inspired by techno’s 90s pioneers. Wata Igarashi returns to Sónar for another mind-bending live set. His deep, textured productions have inspired Japan’s next great techno artist DJ MARIA., who was announced in November together with SonarMix contributorISA and Danielle b2b Ryan Elliott.Sónar+D, rebooted at Llotja de MarA reminder that we’ve rebooted Sónar+D for 2026, with a new venue in the centre of Barcelona, Llotja de Mar.There’ll be more news on the programme coming soon, but today we’ve put the Sónar+D 2-Day Ticket on sale. A call to rethink and reimagine our relationship with technology in an era of digital saturation, this year’s programme is organised under three main headings: AI & Music powered by S+T+ARTS focuses on the frictions we’re encountering as we move towards a post-AI era; Beyond the screen explores how we’re introducing human elements and physicality into an increasingly digital world; and Digital Gardens and Dark Forests looks at how different actors are plotting an escape from the commercial, corporate and increasingly invasive current model of the internet.
This year Sónar+D takes place in the centre of Barcelona at Llotja de Mar on Thursday 18and Friday 19 June. Each day is packed with thought-provoking talks and panels, engaging workshops, performances you won’t see anywhere else, interactive exhibitions and installations, and a host of opportunities for networking and debate. With standalone tickets starting at just €15 for a single day, it’s also the most accessible edition of Sónar+D to date.

From Barcelona to the world: unveiling the Community programme
Mainly focused on the courtyard of Llotja de Mar, branded as Pati+Dfor the duration of Sónar+D, the Community programme iswhere we give the floor to some of Barcelona’s most innovative groups, as well as activities that add personality and a local flavour to the programme. You’ll find everything from intimate conversations and Q&As to elevator-pitch style presentations and live modular jams by local manufacturers.
Amongst the (many) highlights are a conversation between new media artist Yehwan Song- one of the highlights of this year’s exhibition programme - and designboom’s Claire Brodka, a special presentation on generative AI tools by our friends at IRCAM Forum, a conversation on the secret life of projects featuring OFFF’s Pep Salazar and Volvox Labs, and an exploration of the night-time economywith former Amsterdam night-mayor Mirik Milan and Azucena Micóof Sound Diplomacy.
Also returning for the second consecutive year are our popular Community takeovers. Jordi Pons of Stability AI and BRNRT Collective will lead a session in Catalan on the generative music scenein Barcelona, and Creative Coding Barcelona return with one of their interactive, accessible sessions, entitled Performance as code, featuring artists Anne Carreras and Sól Ey.
Final additions to the discourse programme
We’ve also made five final additions to our programme of Talks & Panels.
Digital art has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years.ARTIST AT THE CORE, hosted by designboom Managing Editor Claire Brodka, brings together artists (Hamill Industries’ Anna Díaz and Kamil Nawratil of Volvox Labs) and curators (Myriam Achard from Montreal art space PHI and Sandro Kereselidzefrom US platform Artechouse) to discuss how this expansion has played out, with a particular focus on the evolving relationships and dynamics in the sector.
We’d already confirmed 0xSalon’s interactive card game FAU0X SALON as part of the Workshopsprogramme; we’ve now added an individual appearance by 0xSalon co-founder Wassim Z. Alsindi., who asks how we strayed from the radical promise of the internet in the 90s. Directly after his lecture, Wassim will be joined by Catalan artist Joana Moll for a conversation entitled Privacy, power and the future of the internet.
For those interested in music tech, on Thursday Barcelona Music Lab curate an extended session in Àgora+D featuring a panel discussion, report presentation and pitches that map out the music tech landscape in Barcelona. French company L-Acousticsare the industry leader in spatial audio technology: freshly confirmed as a partner for Sónar 2026, on Friday morning they host a panel that explores how immersive sound is bringing music-lovers together, IRL.
